The #1 Productivity Hack

rahulss.substack.com

Second newsletter. As I have told you in my previous issue, I don’t know what to write, I’ll just share my views. And here I am writing about Productivity. TBH the whole concept of productivity is subjective and depends on what you value.

Read carefully and you’ll find out about the #1 Productivity hack which will help you save some hours.

Hype about productivity

Alright, let's talk about the elephant in the room - the obsession with productivity. It's everywhere, from Instagram influencers to motivational speakers to YouTubers, everyone is trying to sell you the secret to being productive. But let's be real, the hype around productivity is just that - a big ol' hype.

It's like the whole world is trying to convince us that if we just work harder, we'll be successful and happy. But here's the thing, chasing productivity isn't just unrealistic, it's unhealthy. We're not robots, we can't just work non-stop without taking a break.

And don't even get me started on the "productivity apps" and "time-management techniques." I mean, seriously? you're gonna tell me that downloading an app is gonna magically solve all my problems? Puh-lease.

We need to remember that success and happiness are not just measured by how much work we do. Sure, being productive can help us achieve our goals, but it shouldn't be the only thing that defines our lives. We need to find a balance between work and play, otherwise, we'll end up burnt out and miserable.

Moreover, the constant push for productivity is leading to a culture of perfectionism and comparison. We're comparing our productivity to others, and constantly feeling like we're not doing enough. This is leading to a feeling of self-doubt.

So, what's the solution to all this? It's simple, stop buying into the productivity hype.

Stop comparing yourself to others and focus on what truly matters - your own happiness and well-being. It's time to embrace a more relaxed approach to life and work, and stop chasing an unrealistic and unsustainable standard of productivity.

It’s Myth

Yes, productivity is a myth. I have tried multiple ways, multiple systems, you name it I have tried and tested, and nothing has changed me, it’s not that I was not consistent, actually, I was more than consistent following different hacks and different productivity systems, but don’t you think the internal pressure to constantly be productive is detrimental to our overall productivity?

Now, I know some of you are probably thinking, "What the heck are you talking about? Productivity is the key to success, man", is it the key to success?

First of all, the idea of being productive all the time is just unrealistic. It's like trying to be happy 24/7, it just ain't gonna happen.

Secondly, this constant need to be productive is just straight-up exhausting. We're always trying to do more, be more, and accomplish more, but when do we ever take a step back and chill?

The idea of constant productivity is a major myth that can lead to burnout and a lack of balance in our lives. Productivity should enhance our lives, not consume them.

Productivity Hoax

Being in a society/community, we have been brainwashed into believing that being busy all the time is the only way to be successful. We wake up early, drink our coffee(not mentioning chai here coffee sounds more aesthetic), and tackle our to-do list with ferocity, feeling productive and accomplished with each item we cross off.

But what happens when we finally finish that list? Do we feel fulfilled? Do we feel like we've truly achieved something significant? Or do we just feel like we need to start the whole cycle all over again?

The truth is, the more we chase productivity, the less we actually accomplish.

We're so focused on getting things done that we forget to enjoy the journey. We've been tricked into thinking that we're not doing enough, that we need to work harder and faster, but what if we stopped and took a breath? What if we focused on doing things that truly matter, instead of just doing more for the sake of being productive?

Instead of constantly striving to do more, let's focus on doing what truly matters. Let's stop sacrificing our happiness for the sake of being busy and start living life on our own terms.

The #1 Productivity Hack

and finally, we've arrived at the big reveal - the #1 productivity hack. Are you ready? It's a game-changer, I promise.

STOP TRYING SO HARD!

Yup, you heard it right, folks. The secret to productivity is just to stop caring about it so much. Stop trying to be productive 24/7, stop feeling guilty for taking a break, and stop comparing yourself to others. Just relax, breathe, and do what makes you happy.

Now, I know what you're thinking, "But wait, isn't this newsletter supposed to be about productivity hacks?" Well, that's the thing, sometimes the best hack is to just ignore all the other hacks and do what feels right for you. Because in the end, that's all that matters.

On this specific topic, I have a lot to say about this, think of this as part 1 of the series😉

Thanks for reading! If you can relate, please free to subscribe.
